I work in feature animation as a research associate with the R&D group. My goal is to design new tools and work-flows that enhance productivity and allow for the creation of effects and imagery that would not have been possible with conventional solutions. For our last project, Horton Hears a Who, I wrote C++ plugins for our proprietary renderer CGIStudio to create the clover field and other massive particle based procedural fur solutions. I am co-presenting this work at Siggraph 2008 as part of a long talk on fur technology at Blue Sky. I also have prior production experience as a technical director for fx and fur. It's been a privilege to work in an environment where everyone's knowledge is enriched.
