Is a “Blog Review” necessary…?

Is a “Blog Review” necessary…? I often read and post information here on VFX connection in the form of Blogs. Recently, there have been a series of blogs posted that either (1) don’t make sense or (2) are written in a language / format that the majority of members on the site do not understand. Big Question (---and I have posted this as a Blog Topic as well): Should the Blogs be monitored (before or after posting), not specifically for content (--that’s up for the reader to comment upon…), but rather if the “intent” is appropriate for VFX Connection? Also should there be a “universal language” established so the majority of the members will have some idea on what the Blog is even about…? YES: Monitor the Blogs. If the Blog doesn’t make any sense, for instance a member that just copies and pastes passages of novels, than that the person who posted the Blog should be (1) sent a warning, (2) the Blog then removed and (3) if it happens again they should be banned. This is a site used by Industry Professionals around the world and to remain a viable resource a Higher Standard should be observed. NO. VFX connection is meant to be an open forum for people to express anything they desire / feel is appropriate. Additionally, while English would be ideal for most of the serious contributors, participants in VFX Connection, it is not fair to limit Blogs to only those posted in English. Another "pre-blog review option" would be applicants must fill out some type of industry related information under "skills", or even what someone 'wants to do in the future, career wise', (for students), when people want to join the site. If can't simply be left blank and some information must be typed in or they are not allowed to continue.

" Skills" can be modified at any point, and this will immediately weed out those that are potential spammers, or make it that much easier for administrators to locate after the fact.

I do agree with the comment about a universal language.

To prevent people from ganging up blogs, and posting several all at once (---which often are just spam...), would it be appropriate to have members post ONLY two a day...?

If they are "real" blogs, then they can come back the next day and post more, but if it is just Spam then it can be caught earlier on....

Anyone can click the "report inappropriate content" button and the admins will deal with it.
